[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 5th that its YouTube series "Tomorrow Also Works Hard (ESG)," produced since May this year to promote the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities of the Device Solutions (DS) division, has achieved nearly 14 million cumulative views in just seven months.
"Works Hard" is a pun on the Korean pronunciation of "ESG." The YouTube content "Tomorrow Also Works Hard" introduces stories of Samsung Electronics DS division employees active in various fields such as low-power semiconductors, air quality, wastewater treatment, renewable energy, waste separation, and landscaping management. Episodes 1 through 15 have been produced. This content has recorded the highest average views per episode among all series produced on the "Samsung Electronics Semiconductor" YouTube channel. It is especially known to attract significant interest not only from the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) preparing for employment but also from the general public curious about Samsung Electronics' ESG management.
A Samsung Electronics official stated, "As interest and support from colleagues in the workplace increase, there is a positive effect of employees paying attention to and participating in ESG activities."

Season 1 Ends with Bulk Gas Technology Specialist Episode
New Format Season 2 to Continue from Next Year
Samsung Electronics announced that the "EP16, Bulk Gas Technology Specialist" episode, released on the 3rd, marks the end of Season 1 of the "Tomorrow Also Works Hard" series. The protagonist of the final episode of Season 1 is Ji-woon Lee, a 6-year employee working in the Facility Team of the Semiconductor Global Infrastructure Division at Hwaseong FT Group. He majored in mechatronics, integrating mechanical and electronic engineering.
Mr. Lee is currently responsible for producing compressed air, an essential element for operating semiconductor lines. Compressed air operates various valves installed in semiconductor lines and equipment. Samsung Electronics explained that the principle of valve operation is the same as opening and closing bus and subway doors using compressed air.
If moisture remains in the air during the valve operation process, corrosion occurs on the valves after a certain period. To prevent this in advance, Mr. Lee and his team use equipment called an "air dryer." The team developed an air dryer operation method optimized for the humidity conditions of the external atmosphere, contributing to approximately a 5% reduction in power consumption (based on annual power consumption) compared to previous levels, using the same amount of compressed air.
Mr. Lee said, "The amount of power saved through my current work is not large when considering the entire scale of the workplace," but added, "I am confident that small efforts and practices by people like me will come together to realize better ESG."
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics plans to release Season 2 of "Tomorrow Also Works Hard" with a new format starting next year. It also announced plans to support employees' participation in ESG activities and the exchange of various ideas, as well as to inform the general public about ESG activities promoted at the Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Campus.
