[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Welfare and Construction Committee of the Jung-gu Council in Seoul (Chairman Gil Gi-young) visited the public officials' lounge at Euljiro 5-ga and the local road heating installation site on the 2nd.

First, Chairman Gil Gi-young, Committee Members Lee Hwa-mook, Yoon Pan-oh, and Lee Seung-yong visited the public officials' lounge located in Euljiro 5-ga. The lounge, which was demolished following a fire in 2017, was reconstructed and completed last October as a comfortable facility spanning from basement level 1 to the 7th floor above ground. The council members toured the facility, checked its operation status, and met with public officials to listen to their difficulties.

Next, to inspect winter snow removal measures, the members visited the road heating installation sites around 26 Toegye-ro 6-ga-gil and the planned installation sites at 27 Toegye-ro 6-gil and 40 Dongho-ro 15-gil. They received progress reports and heard about future plans.

They also urged thorough efforts to ensure that residents do not suffer damage due to snowfall, especially in frequently icy roads or areas vulnerable to snow accumulation, by carefully promoting the construction.

A site inspection was also conducted at 46 Euljiro 45-gil, where complaints arose due to utility poles remaining in the middle of the road. At the site, the members discussed improvement directions and requested the relevant departments to review support measures.

Chairman Gil Gi-young stated, "We will continue to observe inconveniences from the residents' perspective on-site, meticulously verify district projects, and suggest desirable directions to further strive for creating a city where residents are happy."
