Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk Completes 'Cheongha-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project' Pohang City Hall, Gyeongbuk.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, held a completion ceremony for the ‘Cheongha-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project’ on the 3rd.

The Cheongha-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project was promoted to improve the quality of life by expanding welfare service spaces and convenience facilities for residents and to revitalize the local community.

Selected as a new project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in 2017, a total of 5.86 billion KRW has been invested until this year, constructing the Cheongha Culture and Welfare Center, the March 1st Independence Movement Memorial Park and rest area, and a pine forest trail.

The Cheongha Culture and Welfare Center is equipped with a fitness room, club rooms, a small library, a large auditorium, and small meeting rooms, replacing the previously insufficient welfare hall and convenience facilities for residents.

The completion ceremony held at the center was attended by Mayor Lee Gang-deok, heads of institutions and organizations, and local residents to commemorate the completion of the project.

The city is carrying out rural hub revitalization projects in Cheongha-myeon, Heunghae-eup, Janggi-myeon, and Jukjang-myeon, and is promoting basic living base projects in Singwang-myeon, Gibuk-myeon, Daesong-myeon, and Gigae-myeon.

Mayor Lee Gang-deok said, “I hope the Cheongha-myeon revitalization project will resolve the imbalance in education, culture, and welfare services between urban and rural areas,” adding, “We will secure regional competitiveness through various projects that utilize the potential and unique themes of rural hubs.”
