Suncheon-si Holds Honest Agricultural Dialogue and Discussion Forum (Nongdam)

Hope Agricultural Policy Communication Committee Hosts, Suncheon-style Agricultural Policy Communication Model

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 3rd that it will hold a sincere dialogue and agricultural talk (Nongdam) forum on Suncheon agriculture at around 3 p.m. on the 8th in the auditorium on the first floor of the Honam National Defense Memorial Hall.

This event is organized by the Suncheon City Hope Agricultural Policy Communication Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Communication Committee), which was launched in February 2019 to reflect the voices from rural fields into agricultural policies. About 70 participants including communication committee members, leading farmers, young farmers, consumers, and related officials are expected to attend.

The forum will be divided into agricultural production and technology, agro-food processing and distribution, and rural vitality and welfare sectors to review the shortcomings of Suncheon’s agricultural policies so far, and introduce new discussion methods such as electronic voting to discover ideas preparing for future agricultural trends like With-Corona and smart agriculture.

The topics selected through the forum will undergo a deliberation process by the Communication Committee for one year and will be proposed as agricultural policy measures for 2023.

An official from the Agricultural Policy Division said, “We are making efforts to incorporate the voices from rural fields into policies,” adding, “We will continue to develop various agricultural policy measures for sustainable and livable rural areas and happy agriculture.”
