Gyeongnam Office of Education Holds Resident Participation Budget Training

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Saerom] The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education held a training session on the 3rd at the main office's Gonggam Hall for resident participation budget committee members, local promotion teams, and budget officers from education support offices.

This training was organized to enhance understanding of education policies and the resident participation budget system, and to facilitate smooth communication between resident participation budget committee members and local promotion teams.

In particular, the focus was on next year's operation of the resident participation budget system and the activation of participatory budgeting.

The Resident Participation Local Promotion Team was formed to overcome the limitations of being operated mainly by the Office of Education and to encourage active participation from the local community. They continue to discover resident participation proposal projects and discuss local issues.

Superintendent Park Jonghun stated, “The Gyeongnam Office of Education will make further efforts to expand the resident participation budget to broadly guarantee direct participation of the residents and to complete true educational autonomy.”
