On the 3rd, the People Power Party announced the appointment of Lee Sang-min, Senior Research Fellow at the Nara Sallim Research Institute, as the Chairman of the Economic and Social Committee. However, Lee denied joining the campaign committee, stating that "there was no prior discussion whatsoever." Later, the People Power Party explained that they had mistaken him for Lee Sang-min, former Vice Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

On the 3rd, Lee posted on social media (SNS), "The People Power Party announced new recruits for the presidential election central campaign committee today, and according to this document, it was stated that ‘Lee Sang-min, current Senior Research Fellow at the Nara Sallim Research Institute, an expert in economic policy, was appointed as Chairman of the Economic and Social Committee of the campaign committee.’ I would like to inform you that I have not received any prior discussion or even contact regarding this matter."

In a phone call with this reporter, Lee said, "At first, I thought it was a namesake, but since the institute’s name and title were also mentioned, that’s not the case," adding, "There was no contact, and this is the first time I’m hearing about it."

Earlier, the People Power Party announced the campaign committee personnel plan. This personnel included the organizational structure directly under the central campaign committee, such as the Judicial Reform Committee, Economic and Social Committee, and Global Vision Committee, along with appointments of chairpersons. Lee’s name and title were included in this list.

Subsequently, the People Power Party issued a correction, stating that there was a ‘mistake’ regarding the appointment.

The People Power Party said, "There was an error in the main career details of Chairman Lee Sang-min of the Economic and Social Committee in the press release distributed today," adding, "Chairman Lee Sang-min of the Economic and Social Committee is currently a lawyer and formerly served as Vice Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission."
