E-commerce Industry's Active Steps to Support Local Small Businesses

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] E-commerce companies are actively implementing policies to support local small business owners. The strategy is to support local small business owners in pioneering new markets, develop specialized products, and nurture them into competitive local brands.

Tmon recently signed a business agreement with Changwon City to support the online sales of excellent products. First, Tmon operates a curriculum through its Commerce Academy program to cultivate the skills and know-how necessary for local small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs to smoothly enter and adapt to the new commerce market. It also supports plans to nurture 'local creators' who produce high-quality local content reflecting regional characteristics. There are also plans to develop and nurture regionally specialized products.

As the first project to materialize this cooperation, Tmon and Changwon City will promote 'Living in Changwon for a Month' within this year. Tmon employees will live in Changwon for a month in a 'workation' style, experiencing and discovering various local products and culture. They plan to collaborate with local creators to produce and showcase diverse content.
