Didim, Yeonan Sikdang Ready Meals Enter 8 U.S. Cities

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Didim, which operates 16 dining franchises including Yeonansikdang, Baekjewon, and Mapo Galmaegi, announced on the 3rd that its convenience foods 'Bulkkomakjang' and 'Buchu Kkomakjang' will be exported to eight cities in the United States.

The restaurant-style convenience foods (HMR, Home Meal Replacement) being exported this time were first launched in April 2019. These products are hygienically produced in HACCP-certified facilities after being carefully selected under strict standards from clean tidal flats.

'Bulkkomakjang' features a fiery spicy taste with domestic fresh cockles and spicy Cheongyang chili peppers, while 'Buchu Kkomakjang' highlights a clean spicy flavor with the combination of fresh cockles and buchu (Korean chive). Released as frozen products, they are easy to store. After thawing, they can be conveniently enjoyed immediately as cockle bibimbap.

These kkomakjang products have been sold since last year through Didim's directly managed stores, Naver Store Farm, and home shopping channels. Buchu Kkomakjang is the second most popular product among Didim's convenience foods. The most popular product is Whale Gamjatang, followed by Baekjewon Wonecho Galbijjim and Beef Boshin Jeongol, which also enjoy great popularity.

This marks Didim's first full-scale export to the U.S. 'Bulkkomakjang' and 'Buchu Kkomakjang' will be exported to Los Angeles, La Mirada, Dallas, Torrance, Irvine, Houston, Virginia, and New Jersey in the United States.
