Seoul City Promotes 8 Officials Including Choi Won-seok, Public Relations Officer, to Grade 3 Director Level


[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 3rd that it has appointed eight officials at the director-level (Grade 3) to lead Seoul's administration without disruption.


Including the upcoming Grade 3 promotions, Seoul City plans to implement personnel changes for department and bureau chiefs on the 1st of next month to ensure the smooth progress of key core projects. Among the promoted officials, five are administrative staff and three are technical staff, with Jo Mi-sook, Director of the Tourism Policy Division, being the only female.


The promoted officials include four who passed the civil service exam: Choi Won-seok, Media Officer; Kim Ki-hyun, Gender Equality Policy Officer; Baek Woon-seok, Director of Cultural Policy Division; and Ahn Dae-hee, Technical Review Officer. The other four, who did not pass the civil service exam, are Kim Hyuk, Director of General Affairs Division; Jo Mi-sook, Director of Tourism Policy Division; Kwon Wan-taek, Director of Road Planning Division; and Hong Seon-gi, Director of Apartment Housing Support Division.


Kim Sang-han, Administrative Director, stated, “This Grade 3 promotion balanced consideration of executives from support departments who have backed city administration based on internal and external communication in business departments such as culture, tourism, gender equality, and housing, and who have achieved results in responding to COVID-19.” He added, “Seoul City will continue to make relentless efforts to provide better administrative services to citizens and actively select talented individuals who will enhance the city's competitiveness.”
