Mokpo National Maritime University Hosts LIVING LAB Project for National University Development Program In 2021, the National University Development Project held the 'Living LAB Project for Solving Regional Issues.' ⓒ Asia Economy

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National Maritime University (President Han Won-hee), together with Luther University (President Kwon Deuk-chil) and Anyang University (President Park No-jun), held the 2021 National University Promotion Project 'Living LAB Project for Solving Regional Issues.'


According to Mokpo National Maritime University on the 3rd, this project, which took place over one night and two days from the 5th to the 6th of last month, involved a total of 55 students enrolled in the 'Life and Culture of Mokpo' course at Mokpo National Maritime University, the Diakonia Department course at Luther University, and the Urban Engineering major course at Anyang University. It was operated as an inter-university linked program aimed at discovering ideas to revitalize the old downtown area and developing and promoting tourism resources in island regions.


Through this project, participating students experienced service-learning that creates knowledge and value by applying what they had learned in the classroom to solving local community problems.


Lee Dong-geon, Director of Planning in charge of the National University Promotion Project at Mokpo National Maritime University, expressed his thoughts, saying, "I hope this project provided a good opportunity for students from the participating universities to collaboratively understand and discover the historical significance and value of Mokpo's old downtown area in a new light."
