Board of Audit and Inspection: "Law Professor of Reasonable Character"... Co-author of 'Moon Jae-in, Kim In-hoe Reflect on the Prosecution'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Choi Jae-hae, the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection, has nominated Professor Kim In-hoe of Inha University Law School as a new audit commissioner. Professor Kim is a co-author of the 2011 publication on prosecutorial reform titled "Moon Jae-in, Kim In-hoe Think About the Prosecution."
According to the Board of Audit and Inspection, audit commissioners are appointed by the president upon the recommendation of the head of the Board of Audit and Inspection, pursuant to Article 98 of the Constitution and Article 5 of the Board of Audit and Inspection Act. As members of the Board of Audit and Inspection, the highest decision-making body of the Board, their term is four years.
Professor Kim was born in 1964 in Busan and graduated from Dongnae High School and Seoul National University with a degree in Public Law. The Board of Audit and Inspection explained, "After passing the 35th Judicial Examination in 1993, he worked as a lawyer from 1996 to 2005, during which time he was active in the public sector as an auditor for the Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice Unification Association and as a secretary for the Judicial System Reform Promotion Committee."
The Board of Audit and Inspection stated, "Based on his profound legal insight, he has devoted himself to judicial reform and anti-corruption activities such as citizen participation trials and the introduction of law schools. He is recognized as a rationally inclined law professor who communicates with frank and unpretentious speech, expresses opinions reasonably, maintains harmonious interpersonal relationships, and handles matters meticulously with principles and conviction."
The Board added, "It was judged that he would contribute to fostering a proactive public service atmosphere and producing balanced audit results based on firm conviction and legal insight, which is why he was nominated as an audit commissioner."
Meanwhile, Professor Kim attracted attention in 2011 when he published the book "Moon Jae-in, Kim In-hoe Think About the Prosecution" together with Moon Jae-in, then chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation.
