2021 Banking Sector Management Consulting Best Practices Presentation Meeting Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Jeong Eun-bo, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, described the banking sector's support for self-employed individuals through management consulting as "a very meaningful effort" and expressed hope that it would serve as a turning point for the self-employed to make a comeback.

On the 3rd, the Financial Supervisory Service held an 'Excellent Management Consulting Case Presentation' to promote outstanding management consulting cases by banks to self-employed individuals and to disseminate them throughout the banking sector.

Governor Jeong stated in an online message, “This year, the banking sector and the Financial Supervisory Service have strengthened consulting services tailored to the non-face-to-face, data-driven COVID-19 new normal era, achieving various results such as building a big data consulting system and introducing online market entry education for small business owners." He added, "The banking sector's efforts to support self-employed individuals through management consulting are very meaningful," and expressed hope that "it will be an opportunity for many self-employed people facing difficulties to succeed and make a comeback.”

Popular broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon was invited as a special guest and shared his entrepreneurial experiences, rewarding consulting cases, and management know-how. Additionally, two banks that operated excellent management consulting content this year presented their outstanding cases.

KB Kookmin Bank explained the big data-based KB Soho Consulting System, which proposes promising industries and regions using big data, and introduced the current status and functions of consulting programs operated by Kookmin Bank, such as KB Soho Mentoring School and the video consultation system. Woori Bank and Naver introduced the 'Small Business Financial and Digital Growth Education Program,' jointly established to support small business owners' entry into the online market, and provided guidance on key educational content such as how to utilize online commerce functions like Naver Smart Store, essential financial information, and basic financial knowledge for small business owners.
