On the same day, Hong explained the meeting in the form of answering questions on the Q&A corner of his communication channel "Dream of Youth," which he created.

When a netizen commented, "You accepted a lunch invitation with Yoon Seok-yeol, but I hope you clearly conveyed this: If Hong says 'Without Lee Jun-seok, the presidential election is a guaranteed loss,' 'Lee Soo-jung must be removed,' and 'First, root out the internal hyenas,' then I think you have fulfilled your minimum duty as a lawmaker," Hong replied, "(Yoon) must have understood those three things."

It is unclear whether the "three things" Hong mentioned in the Q&A were the points raised by the youth or if they were advice from Hong to Yoon regarding the reorganization of the campaign committee, persuading Lee Jun-seok, and so forth.

Later, on "Dream of Youth," Hong responded to a post urging, "Even if you dislike it, please help candidate Yoon for the youth," with "I understand well," suggesting he might support Yoon during the upcoming campaign committee reorganization. When faced with a post telling him not to help Yoon, he retorted, "What if they misunderstand it as sulking?"

That day, Yoon held a dinner meeting with Hong at a Korean traditional restaurant in Seoul from 7 p.m. for about 3 hours and 40 minutes.

It is reported that when Yoon expressed frustration over recent conflicts with Lee Jun-seok, the People Power Party leader, regarding the appointment of the campaign committee, Hong advised him to reorganize the campaign committee and meet Lee in person. Yoon is scheduled to visit Jeju Island by plane on the morning of the 3rd to meet Lee.

After the dinner, Hong posted on his Facebook, "Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol came to a meal with a senior prosecutor and just listened for about three hours," and "He said he will go to Jeju tomorrow to meet Lee Jun-seok," but later deleted the post.
