[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 2nd that it will extend the 50% discount on agricultural machinery rental fees until June 2022 to ease the burden on local farmers struggling due to the economic downturn.

The county has been providing a discount on agricultural machinery rental fees since September last year to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to support residents' smooth return to daily life.

The discount applies to users of the local agricultural machinery rental bank, with a 50% reduction in rental fees until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes.

Lee Dong-ryeol, Director of the Agricultural Distribution Division, said, "As COVID-19 prolongs, we hope that extending the 50% discount on agricultural machinery rental fees will provide some help to local farmers facing economic difficulties."
