[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Fan Entertainment has partnered with Naver Z's ZEPETO to realize a 'metaverse drama.'

Fan Entertainment announced on the 2nd that it has signed a business agreement with Naver Z (hereinafter Naver ZEPETO) and Kidari Studio regarding the video adaptation of the webtoon 'Jjeolhaejuseyo' intellectual property (IP).

'Jjeolhaejuseyo' is based on the webtoon of the same name produced by Kidari Studio. It tells the story of a woman who is unemployed in reality but a max-level (expert) player in the game, and a man who is a max-level team leader at work but a beginner in the game, as they meet and navigate between reality and the metaverse, leveling up in their respective lives.

Fan Entertainment pursued a mutual cooperation agreement with Naver ZEPETO regarding the implementation of the metaverse platform featured in the drama 'Jjeolhaejuseyo,' which is co-produced with Kidari Studio, during the planning and development stage.

Based on the 'Jjeolhaejuseyo' IP, Fan Entertainment plans to produce customized new media that goes beyond traditional content forms of merely 'watching' to allowing users to directly 'experience' and enjoy it in diverse ways within the metaverse.

ZEPETO is Asia's largest metaverse platform operated by Naver Z. It has accumulated 250 million registered users worldwide. It is a representative metaverse platform receiving overwhelming attention from Generation Z. Through this business agreement, Fan Entertainment plans to create an innovative revenue model that combines the content market with the metaverse platform, which has recently gained popularity among the MZ generation, generating new added value. They aim to develop 'meta-content' tailored to the tastes of the future leading consumer base and to build trendy and sustainable competitiveness in the metacommerce sector.

The partnership between Fan Entertainment, which has focused on diversifying channels and maximizing IP added value by distributing 'K-content' to major global OTT services, and Naver ZEPETO is expected to strengthen new types of content distribution and expand business areas.

A Fan Entertainment representative said, "In an environment where the metaverse market is growing and the value of content is increasing, we look forward to the cooperation between the two companies, each representing their fields with solid infrastructure and differentiated technology," adding, "Based on the abundant IP we possess, we will strive to produce influential content through creative planning and development collaboration and generate synergy effects that lead market trends."

Meanwhile, Fan Entertainment is a comprehensive media content company that has established a stable position as a 'drama powerhouse' by producing about 60 dramas since 2002. It has produced many hit contents such as the origin of the Korean Wave 'Winter Sonata,' 'The Moon Embracing the Sun,' 'Kill Me, Heal Me,' 'Doctors,' 'Fight for My Way,' 'Temperature of Love,' 'When the Camellia Blooms,' 'Record of Youth,' and 'Racket Boys.'
