[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Park Sang-chul, President of Honam University, announced on the 2nd that he gave a special invited lecture to about 50 students of the 6th class of the China Chief Executive Program (CHAMP) at the Graduate School of Social Convergence (Dean Yoon Cheon-gyun) the day before.
In the special lecture titled "The Role and Tasks of Local Governments in the Korea-China Era," President Park emphasized the role of the 6th class students of the China Chief Executive Program, who are devoted to various sectors of the local community, as private diplomats.
Composed of offline lectures by Korean and Chinese scholars and experts and study tours in China, the CHAMP program concluded all its courses for 2021 with President Park Sang-chul’s special lecture on this day.
The Honam University CHAMP program, jointly established by the Graduate School of Social Convergence and the Confucius Institute (Director Lee Jeong-rim) at Honam University, provides a systematic curriculum on China’s history, culture, politics, economy, society, diplomacy, language, and more to better understand China, which has emerged as a G2 power. Additionally, all participants receive a certificate of completion from the President of Honam University and various benefits such as enrollment in the Confucius Institute’s Chinese conversation course.
