[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus will donate the funds raised through the donation platform 'Dojeon Bank' to the 'Meal Delivery for Food-Insecure Children' program.
LG Uplus announced on the 2nd that it will donate the funds collected through the user-participation donation platform Dojeon Bank to the international relief and development NGO 'Save the Children' on the 6th.
Dojeon Bank is a mobile web platform where users can complete various challenges in their daily lives, accumulate rewards, and donate them to society under their user names. Users can directly select specific amounts and donation destinations within the accumulated rewards, and communication is also possible through 'claps' and comments among users.
LG Uplus achieved the target donation amount for the 'Meal Delivery for Food-Insecure Children' early on the 18th of last month and will deliver a donation of 5.2 million KRW to Save the Children on the 6th. This will be used for the 'COVID-19 Child Meal Support Project' to assist children at risk of food insecurity.
As of the 30th of last month, Dojeon Bank has surpassed 23,000 challenges and raised about 40 million KRW through approximately 6,600 donations. Among these, users from other companies account for 46%. There were 22,000 cheers and 730 comments exchanged among participating users, indicating active communication.
Dojeon Bank is currently raising funds for various purposes, including livelihood support for low-income grandparent households, support for plastic waste upcycling projects, and educational support projects for children marginalized due to COVID-19.
Kim Heejin, Head of Brand Strategy Team at LG Uplus, said, "I think it is meaningful that we can participate in socially necessary donation activities through the challenges of participants," adding, "We hope that more people will join these meaningful challenges in the future and that Dojeon Bank can spread more positive social influence."
