Namwon-si to Operate 'Lifelong Learning Week' Starting from the 6th


[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 1st that it will operate the 2021 Lifelong Learning Week under the theme "Learn, Enjoy, and Share in Namwon" from the 6th to the 10th.


This event will be held online through the "Lifelong Learning City Namwon" YouTube channel, considering the COVID-19 situation.


At 3 PM, a "9-minute interview" will be conducted with lifelong learning experts of Korea (▲Kwon In-tak, President of the Korean Lifelong Education Association ▲Kang Dae-jung, President of the National Institute for Lifelong Education ▲Ahn Gwan-su, Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Wonkwang University ▲Seo Jae-bok, Dean of the College of Education at Jeonju University ▲Jeon Ha-young, President of the Korean Lifelong Educators Association) to present various information about lifelong learning and the vision for lifelong learning in Namwon City.


At 10 AM and 5 PM, through the program called "Capturing Namwon," the event will visit educational sites directly to deliver vivid scenes of lifelong learning in Namwon City.


Also, at 2 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM, a creative poetry recital by grandmothers who started learning Hangeul late in life will be held under the name "Listening Literacy Grandma's Wi-Fi."


Meanwhile, at the city hall lobby, the "Ttobom Unmanned Exhibition" will be held, showcasing this year's national adult literacy education poetry submissions and the works of past grand prize winners.


At the Namwon City Lifelong Learning Center, works by learners who participated in lifelong education programs will be exhibited.


Anyone can participate in this event by searching "Lifelong Learning City Namwon" on YouTube or by scanning the QR code on the lifelong learning week tickets distributed at Namwon City’s eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers.


Mayor Lee Hwan-joo said, "This Lifelong Learning Week was planned as a new normal event using an online platform for the health of citizens," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a lifelong learning city Namwon that enhances citizens' happiness and quality of life."
