[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 30th, Dong-Eui University Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute awarded software quality certification to Iljoo GNS and JJ & Companies.
This was the first GS certification awarding ceremony since starting GS certification operations.
Iljoo GNS received the first certification for its work management time calculation software in the shipbuilding production sector.
JJ & Companies received the second certification for software that provides underwater environmental data to users.
Jung Seok-chan, director of the Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute at Dong-Eui University, said, “We will strive to ensure that local companies’ software products can be competitive through GS certification operations.”
The Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute at Dong-Eui University was recognized in 2016 as the first KOLAS internationally accredited testing institution in the software field in the southeastern region.
In May, the university was newly designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT as a software quality certification (GS certification) institution, the first among universities nationwide and in the southeastern region, and began GS (Good Software) certification operations in August.
GS certification is a national certification system that tests and evaluates software products and awards certificates and certification marks according to Article 20 of the Software Promotion Act and the Ministry of Science and ICT’s notification.
The certification fields of the Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute include five areas: △system management software △enterprise management software △industrial software △multimedia/game software △embedded application software.
