Renault Samsung Sells 17,872 Units in November... Domestic and Export Sales Both Reach Annual Highs

Domestic Market Led by QM6... Export Line XM3 Continues Its Surge

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Renault Samsung Motors announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 17,872 units in November, an increase of 121.4% compared to the same period last year. Both domestic and export sales recorded the highest performance of the year.

Domestic market sales reached 6,219 units. Although this was a 15% decrease compared to the previous year, it increased by 22.5% compared to the previous month, continuing the rebound in the domestic market. The model that led the highest domestic sales of the year was the QM6, with 3,748 units sold, a 2.8% increase. In particular, the QM6 LPe, the only LPG model in Korea, sold 2,373 units, accounting for 63.3% of the total QM6 sales.

The XM3 also saw sales of 1,645 units, a 107.7% increase compared to the previous month, as a result of efforts to secure parts. Especially, the XM3 continued its sales growth trend with a total of 11,535 units sold, including both domestic and export sales.

Exports recorded a total of 11,743 units, a 1,254.4% increase compared to the previous year, with 9,890 units of the XM3, 1,818 units of the QM6, and 35 units of the Twizy sold. A Renault Samsung official stated, "Thanks to efforts to secure parts such as semiconductors, rapid production increases have become possible. We will focus all efforts on increasing domestic sales by the end of the year, centered on the main production models of the Busan plant, including the SM6, QM6, and XM3."
