KT Ends Compensation Inquiry Service for Communication Disruptions

KT Ends Compensation Inquiry Service for Communication Disruptions

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 1st that it has ended the operation of the compensation inquiry website, which was established to allow customers who experienced network disruptions to check their eligibility and compensation amounts.

On the same day, KT posted on the website, "We sincerely apologize to all customers who experienced inconvenience due to the internet and other service disruptions that occurred on October 25," and "We inform you that the internet and other service disruption compensation inquiry service has ended as of November 30."

The dedicated support center that KT had set up for customer compensation has also concluded its operations. Previously, as a response measure to the network disruption incident, KT operated a consumer compensation dedicated support center starting from the 5th of last month. The call center was scheduled to operate from the 5th to the 18th, and the compensation inquiry website from the 15th to the 18th. However, since the affected customers were nationwide, there were criticisms that the support center's operation period was too short, and KT decided to extend the support center's operation by two weeks, running it until the day before yesterday.
