GS25 Releases 'Limited Edition Christmas Cake' Featuring LG Uplus Characters

Mini Cakes 6 Types, 50% Discount Sale Throughout December

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 1st that it will launch two limited edition cakes for the year-end: 'Holman Fromage Cake' and 'Muneo Sweet Potato Cake.'

Reflecting the recent trend where unique products that can be fun to share on social networking services (SNS) are gaining popularity, these cakes were planned and released as special Christmas cakes featuring LG Uplus's representative characters 'Holman' and 'Muneo.' These are first-come, first-served pre-order products, and customers who wish to purchase can order through GS Retail's exclusive app 'The Pop' or visit a nearby GS25 store. The price is 29,900 KRW each.

Customers who purchase the cakes will also receive goods such as Christmas cards designed in the shape of nostalgic folder phones and Holman warmer cushions, which can be used as various props to help create a party atmosphere.

GS25 also launched six types of mini cakes, including 'Bredique Mont Blanc Cake,' 'Cyworld Carrot Cake,' and 'Injeolmi Crumble Cake,' for customers preparing small home parties.

Priced affordably between 5,000 and 6,000 KRW each, these mini cakes are available for purchase anytime at GS25 stores nationwide. To celebrate the launch, GS25 is offering a 50% discount throughout December to customers who present a discount QR code within The Pop app and pay with a BC Card when purchasing any of the six mini cakes.

Jo Ga-hyun, GS Retail's dessert MD, said, "Cake sales during the ten days before and after Christmas tend to increase by up to 10 times compared to the same period on regular days," adding, "We have prepared a lineup that rivals specialty stores, from limited edition Christmas cakes to mini cakes, for customers planning special year-end parties."
