Oh Se-hoon Oversees 'Salvation Army Charity Kettle' Throughout Year-End and New Year... 'Fruit of Love' Handover Ceremony Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon is holding a field meeting with students and parents participating in the 'Seoul Learn' mentoring program at the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Media Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 30th. Seoul Learn is a Seoul-type online education platform aimed at restoring the broken educational ladder and eliminating educational gaps between social classes, and it is a key pledge of Mayor Oh Se-hoon. [Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 1st, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will join the '2021 Salvation Army Charity Kettle Opening Ceremony' held at Seoul City Hall Plaza to announce the nationwide start of fundraising for the charity kettles. Mayor Oh will encourage a culture of sharing by donating funds.


The Salvation Army Charity Kettle Opening Ceremony marks the declaration of the start of the Salvation Army charity kettles and the beginning of the fundraising period. This year, 322 charity kettles will be installed in 17 cities and provinces nationwide, including Seoul. Last year's fundraising amount was 12.3 billion KRW, and this year's fundraising goal is 13.2 billion KRW.


Following this, Mayor Oh will receive the ‘Fruit of Love’ badge from Yoon Young-seok, Chairman of the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, and the ambassador of the Fruit of Love, and will donate ‘Neighborly Love Funds’ to the donation box in his office.


This day marks the first day of the ‘Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign’ launched by Seoul City in collaboration with the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, with the fundraising campaign running for two months until the 31st of next month. The funds raised through the campaign will be used to support vulnerable groups in urgent need of assistance.
