Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Selected as Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Teaching and Learning Support Center'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Gyeongnam Jeongbo University has been selected as the '2021 Excellent Teaching and Learning Support Center.'

The center selection is hosted by the Ministry of Education and selected and announced by the Korea Council for College Education.

In this evaluation targeting nationwide junior colleges, only three schools including Gyeongnam Jeongbo University, which have excellent teaching and learning support systems and operational performance, were selected.

The Education Innovation Center at Gyeongnam Jeongbo University invested a large-scale budget last year to establish advanced remote class support facilities such as a multi-studio and media production room.

The university built an online learning management system suited for the COVID-19 non-face-to-face era and strengthened the remote teaching capabilities of professors and instructors through training, special lectures, and seminars.

The Education Innovation Center reflected student demands and conducted ▲‘Learning Method Special Lectures’ to enhance learning capabilities such as learning strategies and motivation ▲‘Learning Clinic,’ a learning support program for students with poor grades ▲‘Tutoring’ and ‘Tutoring Plus,’ where high-achieving students are designated as tutors to conduct group studies.

The center operates programs to improve students’ academic achievement through essays and contests.

Song Min-ok, head of the Education Innovation Center at Gyeongnam Jeongbo University, said, “Gyeongnam Jeongbo University will become a university where professors and students grow together through teaching and learning support.”

Gyeongnam Jeongbo University, selected as an excellent teaching and learning support center, will be awarded a certificate and plaque designated by the Minister of Education and is scheduled to present excellent cases of teaching and learning support centers on the 14th.
