Hana Bank Launches 'Hana SOHO Academy' for Small Business Owners

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Bank announced on the 30th that it will actively participate in supporting small business owners struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and will implement the 'Hana SOHO Academy' on the 2nd of next month for healthy co-growth with small business owners.

The 'Hana SOHO Academy' is an educational program that supports customized courses essential for small business owners, such as tax, labor, and real estate, encouraging their continuous business operations and successful independence. The first session will be a one-hour lecture titled “Useful Tax Information for Sole Proprietors,” delivered by a tax specialist from Hana Bank. Considering the COVID-19 situation, the lecture will be conducted non-face-to-face via the metaverse platform ‘ifrland’.

Participants for the lecture were recruited in advance through an application process targeting customers currently using Hana Bank’s ‘Franchise Store Loans,’ taking into account the characteristics of the metaverse. The first 50 applicants secured the opportunity to attend the lecture, and upon completion of the course, they will receive a 0.2% interest rate reduction benefit on their existing ‘Franchise Store Loans.’

Jihwan Park, Vice President of Hana Bank’s CIB Group, stated, “Since launching the ‘Small Business Owner Companion Campaign’ in August, Hana Bank has been proud to be a reliable partner for small business owners nationwide,” adding, “We will continue to practice sincere ESG management by supporting the healthy growth of local small business owners across both financial and non-financial sectors.”
