[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Professor Lee Soo-jung of the Department of Criminal Psychology at Kyonggi University, who joined the People Power Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee as a co-chair, criticized Lee Jun-seok, the party leader, who publicly opposed her recruitment.

On the 29th, Professor Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Hanpanseungbu' and pointed out to Lee Jun-seok, "It seems he cannot properly distinguish between feminism and radicalism."

Earlier, on the 23rd, Lee Jun-seok appeared on Chosun Ilbo's YouTube channel and said, "I definitely oppose recruiting (Professor Lee)," adding, "If such recruitment happens, it would be contrary to the process and direction our party has prepared for the election so far." It appears he judged that Professor Lee's recruitment would not help consolidate support among the 2030 male demographic.

Professor Lee explained, "Radicalism has various side effects, but what I have been saying so far is that the criminal justice system should not ignore the victims of crime. I have never said that only women victims should be protected." She continued, "Since 80% of violent crime victims are women, people might assume that protecting victims means protecting women, and they might attack me on that basis, but in fact, I have never said that only women should be protected."

Regarding her acceptance of candidate Yoon's recruitment offer, Professor Lee stated, "A bird cannot fly with only one wing on the left. It also needs the right wing. Therefore, both the right and left wings should move in the right direction toward a fair world. We need to fill the gaps. This thought was the strongest (influencing me)."

Meanwhile, on the recent problematic stalking crimes, Professor Lee said, "I think a 100% arrest rate after death is meaningless." She added, "Although the Stalking Punishment Act has been legislated, the problem is that just making the law does not ensure proper enforcement. Deaths have already occurred, so various guidelines related to victim protection need to be more thoroughly included in the enforcement decree. Especially, I think smartwatches and other IT electronic devices should be subject to management."
