[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Jeonnam Muan County Council (Chairman Kim Dae-hyun) concluded the 20-day session schedule on the 29th with the 6th plenary session of the 2nd regular meeting of the 275th session.
According to the county council, this regular meeting covered the executive branch's report on next year's work plan, questions on county administration, ordinances, the 2022 main budget, and other matters related to the executive branch's overall work, handling a total of 24 agenda items.
Earlier, on the 23rd, the council held a Budget and Settlement Special Committee (Chairman Assemblyman Park Seong-jae) meeting, where they cut 2.835 billion KRW from the main budget submitted by the executive branch and approved the final review plan with modifications at the plenary session on the same day.
Accordingly, next year's Muan County budget was finalized at 550.7 billion KRW, an increase of 21.6 billion KRW (4.08%) compared to this year's main budget of 529.1 billion KRW.
During the county administration questions held on the 24th targeting County Governor Kim San, they reviewed the promotion directions for key county administration issues such as revitalizing Muan International Airport and improving living conditions in rural fishing villages, and proposed alternatives to the problems.
A total of 20 ordinances were processed during this session, of which five were proposed by council members, including the "Ordinance on the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights of Workers in Apartment Complexes in Muan County" and the "Ordinance on Support for Elementary School Students' Enrollment Celebration Money in Muan County," all of which were approved as originally proposed at the plenary session held that day.
Chairman Kim Dae-hyun said in his closing remarks, "Although efforts for phased daily recovery continue, the reality we face is not easy," adding, "Going forward, the Muan County Council will focus all its capabilities on seeking various measures that residents can feel and empathize with in response to the with-COVID-19 era."
Meanwhile, due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19 regional infections, the county administration questions for heads of offices, divisions, and departments that could not be completed will be conducted at the 276th extraordinary session scheduled for mid-next month.
