[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju-cheol In] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 26th that it was selected as an excellent institution at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2021 National Policy Design Performance Sharing Contest' and received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.

It was selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years, following the Best Award in 2019 and the Excellence Award last year.

National Policy Design is a policy that reflects and improves the needs of policy targets in public policies and services by utilizing service design techniques together with citizens, public officials, and service designers.

This contest was participated only by institutions selected as the top 12 projects through the first document screening, second online screening, and public voting among the National Policy Design team operation tasks of central government ministries and local governments nationwide.

The Gyeongnam National Policy Design team, including the Provincial Social Innovation Promotion Team, Elderly Welfare Division, Gyeongnam Provincial Dementia Center, Changwon City and Yangsan City Senior Centers, participated and was highly evaluated for producing results by jointly seeking ways to overcome elderly dementia and its fears from May to October.

Ok Se-jin, head of the Provincial Social Innovation Promotion Team, said, "This Gyeongsangnam-do National Policy Design is an achievement created by deep consideration for demand-centered customized policies," and added, "We will strive harder to realize policies that residents can feel more directly."
