On the 26th, tvN announced that actors Lee Kwangsoo, Kim Seolhyun, and Jin Heekyung will star in the drama 'The Murderer's Shopping List' (written by Han Jiwan, directed by Lee Eonhee), which will air in the first half of next year.
'The Murderer's Shopping List' is a neighborhood face-to-face comic mystery that begins when a mysterious corpse is found near an apartment on the outskirts of Seoul. It follows Daesung (played by Lee Kwangsoo), an intern at MS Mart run by his mother, police officer Do Ahhee (played by Kim Seolhyun) from the local precinct, and Daesung's mother Jung Myungsook (played by Jin Heekyung), who start investigating based on supermarket receipts.
The drama is a collaboration between director Lee Eonhee, known for films such as 'Detective: Returns' and 'Missing: The Other Woman,' and writer Han Jiwan, who wrote dramas like 'Wanted' and 'Today's Detective.'
Lee Kwangsoo plays Daesung, the son of the MS Mart owner, who was once a memorization genius but has failed the level 9 civil service exam for three consecutive years. Daesung possesses uselessly detailed observational skills, a cumbersome memory that only takes up brain capacity, and a timid nature that can't even run away in the face of danger. His life starts to unravel beginning with an incident he experienced at MS Mart when he was 10 years old.
Kim Seolhyun portrays Do Ahhee, a passionate police officer at Odong District Precinct and Daesung's girlfriend. Ahhee has been a devoted admirer of Daesung since childhood and, along with Daesung's mother Myungsook, acts as his steadfast supporter. When a mysterious murder occurs near the apartment, she takes it upon herself to find the culprit.
Jin Heekyung plays Jung Myungsook, the MS Mart owner and Daesung's mother. Myungsook loves her incompetent but handsome husband and her foolish yet human son. She is a fearless figure who has developed a small neighborhood supermarket into a respectable two-story building with everything one could need.
