Three Pohang Members of the Cargo Solidarity Union Booked for Obstruction of Official Duties and Business, Under Police Investigation

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Three union members belonging to the Cargo Solidarity Pohang Regional Headquarters have been booked on charges including obstruction of official duties and are under police investigation.

According to the Pohang Nambu Police Station on the 26th, the union members are suspected of obstructing the operation of cargo vehicles at a logistics warehouse in Nam-gu, Pohang City, around 6:20 p.m. the previous day.

The police booked union member A on charges of obstructing police duties (obstruction of official duties) by blocking cargo vehicle operations, while the other two were booked on charges of obstruction of business.

The Cargo Solidarity stated, "There was no physical clash or any bodily contact, yet the police are overreacting," and added, "If the excessive response continues, we will escalate the intensity of our struggle."

About 1,700 union members from five branches including Pohang, Gyeongju, and Yeongcheon of the Cargo Solidarity have participated in a strike after holding a send-off ceremony on the 25th.
