On the 24th (local time), Chinese media and portals such as Tencent News and Sohu.com released a video showing a female police officer subduing a man who was causing a disturbance while brandishing a knife with her bare hands on the 19th.

According to the police of Muchuan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, China, on the evening of the 19th, a man attempted to attack a young woman with a Chinese kitchen knife on a street in Muguijin, Muchuan County. A female officer in plain clothes wearing a red padded jacket, who was working nearby, noticed this and immediately disarmed the man with her bare hands and subdued him.

The female officer is known to be Sergeant Luo Huilin of the Muchuan County Police Station.

Sergeant Luo told local media, "While walking to Beomseo Bridge on Muguin Road, people suddenly started shouting," and explained the tense situation at the time, saying, "I heard that someone had been slashed with a knife, and when I checked, a man and a woman were entangled in a physical fight."

Sergeant Luo identified herself as a police officer and said, "Put down the knife," and together with nearby citizens, she disarmed the man. The weapon the man was holding was a Chinese cleaver with a wide rectangular blade. Sergeant Luo subdued the man, and the situation was resolved after the police who arrived later arrested him.

According to the police investigation, the female victim was the wife of the man named Wei Mo, who wielded the knife. It was reported that Wei Mo brandished the kitchen knife after having an argument with his wife. The police have detained the man who caused the disturbance with the weapon.
