Geochang-gun Hosts the 1st Geochang Wild Ginseng National Singing Contest

8 Invited and Local Singers Scheduled to Perform

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it will hold the '1st Geochang Wild Ginseng National Singing Contest' at 7 p.m. on December 18 at the Geochang Cultural Center.

Hosted by the Geochang Cultural Foundation and organized by the Geochang branch of the Korea Federation of Entertainment Artists, the application deadline for this singing contest is until the 27th. Only applicants who pass the preliminary screening on the 30th will perform on stage in the final contest.

The Geochang Cultural Foundation will select a final 6 winners and award a total prize of 8 million won along with certificates and trophies. The grand prize winner will receive a prize of 3 million won and a certificate recognizing them as a singer of the Republic of Korea.

A Geochang-gun official said, "This singing contest was planned to be held in conjunction with the 'Wild Ginseng Festival,' but due to the festival's cancellation, it will be held separately," adding, "We expect it to be an opportunity to promote Geochang's wild ginseng brand and discover new singers."
