Seoul Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee and Korea Youth Development Association Sign Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Youth Guidance and Protection

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee announced on the 25th that it will sign a business agreement with the Korea Youth Development Association at the Seoul Youth Center on the 26th.

At this business agreement ceremony, Kim Hak-bae, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee, and Heo Jun-young, President of the Korea Youth Development Association, will attend to establish an organic cooperative system to strengthen youth guidance and protection, and cooperate to create a social environment where youth can grow up healthily.

The business agreement between the Seoul Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee and the Korea Youth Development Association includes ▲ expanding customized education and support for youth and strengthening youth protection activities such as joint patrols and promotional activities in crime-prone areas ▲ cooperating in developing youth guidance programs reflecting the characteristics of each period and region to ensure practical guidance activities ▲ mutually providing and sharing necessary information to prevent violence inside and outside schools and increasingly sophisticated youth crimes ▲ holding regular meetings (and occasional meetings if necessary) to promote inter-agency exchange and continuously discussing ways to activate cooperation.

Kim Hak-bae, Chairman of the Autonomous Police Committee, said, “This agreement is the first business agreement signed since the launch of the Seoul Metropolitan Autonomous Police Committee, and I consider it very meaningful to work together with the Korea Youth Development Association, which has led youth protection and guidance activities for 57 years.” He added, “We will do our best to ensure that youth, the protagonists of future society, grow up properly.”

Heo Jun-young, President of the Korea Youth Development Association, said, “Youth are our future and hope, so youth protection and development work is the most precious activity. I expect this business agreement to be not a one-time event but an active effort where the two organizations communicate frequently and develop customized programs for youth protection.”
