[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] The courageous rescue of unconscious passengers by citizens who approached a burning accident vehicle without hesitation has recently come to light, touching many hearts.

According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, at around 5:40 p.m. on the 21st, a white passenger car driven by a man in his 40s, Mr. A, crashed into a guardrail on the road in front of Yeongju Tunnel in Jung-gu, Busan.

The accident vehicle immediately caught fire, and it was reported that the driver and passenger had already lost consciousness at the time.

At that moment, taxi driver Mr. B, who was passing by the accident scene, found the unconscious driver and attempted a rescue, but the vehicle door was damaged from the impact and would not open easily. Seeing this, ladder truck driver Mr. C brought tools from his vehicle and, together with Mr. B, broke the car window to rescue the passengers.

One citizen called 119 and joined in rescuing the passenger, while Busan Tunnel management staff who rushed to the scene used fire extinguishers they brought to perform initial firefighting and assist in saving lives. Quick service driver Mr. D performed CPR on the rescued driver.

Even after the rescue operation was completed, they cleaned up debris scattered around to prevent secondary accidents and organized the accident site.

Thanks to the help of these citizens, all the passengers in the accident vehicle were safely rescued and transported to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Netizens who heard the news praised the rescuers, saying, "It must have been really scary, but the Busan citizens who immediately rescued the driver right after the accident are truly heroes of our time," "Applause for your bravery. You will be blessed," and "Those people are the real heroes. They help not because of their job or strength, but because they are moved by the instinct to help."

The Busan Police shared a video showing these scenes on Facebook, expressing their gratitude: "Citizen heroes who prioritized saving precious lives over their own safety at a critical scene. The police plan to present certificates of appreciation to the citizens who helped with the rescue. Thanks to you."
