120km Mobile Campaign from Gumi to Chilgok Waegwan Complex Conducted
On the 23rd, the Daegu Regional Environmental Office conducted a winter chemical accident prevention campaign at 32 hazardous chemical handling sites.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Daegu Regional Environmental Office conducted a winter chemical accident prevention campaign in celebration of the 4th Chemical Safety Emphasis Week.
The campaign, which started during the morning commute on the 23rd, took place at the main gates of 32 hazardous chemical handling workplaces in Daegu Seongseo Industrial Complex, Gumi, Gimcheon, Chilgok, Andong, Yeongju, and other locations.
At each site, banners reading "Prevent winter chemical accidents and create a safe workplace" were displayed.
A distance campaign was also carried out, attaching banners to the chemical accident site measurement and analysis vehicle and the on-site support vehicle operated by the Gumi Chemical Disaster Joint Prevention Center, touring approximately 120 km from the center to Gumi, Gimcheon, Chilgok, and Waegwan Industrial Complex.
Center Director Shin Woo-gyun said, "I hope this serves as an opportunity for both employers and workers to raise awareness about chemical accidents," adding, "Let's strive to make safety awareness a habit to prevent chemical accidents during winter."
