IFC Seoul Hosts 'Lighting Festival' for Christmas Celebration

IFC Seoul Hosts 'Lighting Festival' for Christmas Celebration IFC Seoul, 2021 Lighting Festival.

Use of 100% Biodegradable Organic Products
Emphasis on Eco-friendliness Including LED Bulb Recycling

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] IFC Seoul announced on the 23rd that it will hold the large-scale light festival '2021 Lighting Festival' until January 16 next year to celebrate Christmas and the year-end season.

Now in its third year, this Lighting Festival was planned with the hope of restoring the healthy daily lives of citizens exhausted by COVID-19. Under the theme 'Illumi Nature (Illumination + Nature), a world descended by winter light,' sculptures such as moose, deer, and Putri emit bright light.

At various locations including the North Pavilion, an outdoor plaza of IFC Mall, the South Gate on the GL floor, the North and South street trees, and the IFC Office lobby, visitors are greeted by the moose family, Santa’s sleigh pulled by Rudolph, Putri, and the splendid Ball Tree.

IFC Seoul emphasized 'eco-friendliness' in this festival. The organic ball tree sculpture installed on the grass plaza of the North Pavilion and the organic balls used in the mall’s void are eco-friendly products that are 100% biodegradable and certified by PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). The LED lights used in the organic balls of the grass plaza ball tree, the moose family, and the Golden Meridian inside the mall’s void minimize light loss and maintain long lifespan, reducing electricity costs. The bulbs can be recycled without cutting them during dismantling. The LED bulbs used in this festival have been reused in various concepts for three consecutive years.

To commemorate this festival, IFC Seoul will hold an Instagram photo certification event from the 29th of this month to the 12th of next month. Participants need to follow the official IFC Mall Instagram account and post photos taken at the locations where the Lighting Festival sculptures are installed with the required hashtags. Through a draw, 13 winners will receive IFC Mall gift certificates worth 500,000 KRW (1 person), 300,000 KRW (1 person), 100,000 KRW (1 person), and 50,000 KRW (10 people).

An IFC Seoul official said, "Now in its third year, the Lighting Festival has established itself as a representative festival of IFC Seoul that visitors enjoy together," adding, "This year, we expect it to be a meaningful time to enjoy the festival with customers welcoming the recovery of healthy daily life and to once again reflect on the importance of eco-friendliness."
