Comprehensive Photo Album Reflecting Changes in the Modern and Contemporary Era
Content Reviewed Through Consultation with Six Experts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do plans to publish a booklet titled "Modern and Contemporary History of Yeongam-gun through Photographs" next month.
According to the county on the 23rd, the booklet is a comprehensive photo album documenting the changes over time in various fields such as daily life, culture, industry, and public institutions in Yeongam-gun from the 1930s to the present. It was produced as a 400-page photo archive after a photo collection period held in March targeting residents and hometown visitors.
To publish the booklet, on the 23rd, the county held a meeting of a six-member advisory committee in the Nangsansil at the county office, including Kim Han-nam, head of Yeongam Cultural Center, Choi Nam-ho, Jeon-gyo of Yeongam Hyanggyo, and Kim Hee-tae, former Jeollanam-do Cultural Heritage Committee member, to comprehensively coordinate and decide on the content and organization of the booklet.
The county plans to hold a second advisory committee meeting in early next month to revise and reflect the advisors' opinions and print about 1,000 copies of the booklet.
The published booklet will be stocked and distributed at the county office civil service center, town and township offices, and related institutions. It is expected to be used as promotional material for the county's history and legacy as well as an important resource for local history research.
A county official said, "With the publication and distribution of 'Modern and Contemporary History of Yeongam-gun through Photographs,' anyone can easily learn about Yeongam's past and understand its history, using it as an indicator for future development. It will be permanently preserved and distributed to related organizations and schools to be used as promotional material for Yeongam."
