Yeoncheon-gun Completes Construction of 'Hantan River Columnar Jointing Trail'

Geological Experience and Natural Scenery at Hantangang Area: A Tourist Attraction in Northern Gyeonggi

Hantan River Columnar Jointing Trail [Yeoncheon-gun]

[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 23rd that it has completed the construction of a 3.8 km section of the Hantangang Columnar Jointing Trail (from Goneung-ri Sewolgyo to Namgye-ri Dogampo) carried out under the Special Act on Support for Border Areas.

The Hantangang Columnar Jointing Trail, connecting Cheorwon, Pocheon, and Yeoncheon, is considered a tourist attraction in northern Gyeonggi where visitors can enjoy various geological experiences and the beautiful natural scenery of the Hantangang area. The entire length of the Yeoncheon-gun Hantangang Columnar Jointing Trail is 25.1 km.

Yeoncheon-gun is promoting a project to connect the undeveloped 5.5 km section between 'Smile of the Earth Camping Site' and 'Baegae Lava' on the Hantangang Columnar Jointing Trail, aiming to complete it by 2023.
