[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) successfully completed the Expectant Mothers' Health Class, which was operated to provide accurate information on pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, helping expectant mothers properly manage prenatal and postnatal care and promote the health of both mothers and fetuses.
According to Seo-gu on the 23rd, the Expectant Mothers' Health Class had a total of 119 participants, about 10 each month from February to this month, and was conducted in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
The main topics included prenatal and postnatal depression management for pregnant women, newborn health care methods, and successful breastfeeding techniques. The class was held once a month for three hours with invited professional instructors.
Hands-on education such as infant CPR, making nursing pillows helpful for prenatal education activities, and reading prenatal education fairy tales were also conducted to increase participant satisfaction.
A Seo-gu official said, "We will continue to do our best to discover various programs for pregnant women that provide practical help in managing the health of mothers preparing for childbirth."
Seo-gu plans to operate this program again next year, and when the education is conducted, it will be announced on Seo-gu Office SNS (Naver Band) and Seo-gu newsletters.
