[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will hold an XR (Extended Reality) event, a core technology for implementing the metaverse.
On the 23rd, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold the '2021 NRP (New Reality Partners) Demo Day,' where promising companies in the fields of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), which form the basis of XR, will present their achievements from the 24th to 25th both online and offline.
NRP (New Reality Partners) is a project promoted by Gyeonggi Province since 2017 to foster XR companies. Up to the 6th term this year, a total of 148 promising companies have been selected and nurtured.
This event introduces companies leading the metaverse and extended reality industries supported by the province this year, with 48 companies participating, including 'Nexibil,' which develops virtual space collaboration platforms, and 'EX,' which possesses virtual production directing solutions.
Unlike last year, when the event was held only online due to COVID-19, this year's event allows for corporate exchanges and business consultations among industry stakeholders at the offline venue.
The offline event will be held at the IVEX Studio within U Planet, a complex cultural and media facility located in Gwangmyeong City.
The event can also be attended online via the YouTube channel (Gyeonggi Content Agency account) for general viewing and the metaverse platform Gather Town for corporate consultations.
