On the afternoon of the 22nd, OB Beer held a rice cake donation ceremony in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, delivering healthy and delicious snacks to a total of 1,700 children at risk of food insecurity. The ceremony was attended by OB Beer Vice President of Marketing Yoo Hee-moon, Happiness Alliance Secretariat (Happiness Narae) Director Cho Min-young, and Dalrol Company CEO Park Ki-beom.
The "Korea Rice Tastes Good Challenge" is a participatory relay donation campaign conducted by OB Beer's social contribution brand "OB Good World" and "Hanmaek," Korea's representative lager brand brewed with domestic rice, to promote the consumption of Korean rice and support children at risk of food insecurity. Through this event, donations worth 10 million KRW were raised.
From October 25 to November 21, the "Rice Tastes Good Challenge" was held for four weeks on Instagram, blogs, and other platforms, with approximately 850 participation posts uploaded. Not only individuals such as housewives, office workers, and university students but also various associations, institutions, and companies including the Korea Rice Processed Food Association, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Vitamin Angels, Five Seconds, and Hanseong Enterprise joined forces.
The rice cakes delivered to 1,700 children at risk of food insecurity are products of the rice bakery startup "Dalrol Company" and will be distributed to children in Seoul, Icheon, and Cheongju?where OB Beer's headquarters and production plants are located?through the Happiness Alliance, a safety net for children’s happiness.
The Happiness Alliance, which participated in this challenge, is a happiness safety net created by companies, government, and citizens together to build a happy world including children who do not receive welfare benefits. Currently, 106 member companies, including OB Beer, are working with the Happiness Alliance to help children in welfare blind spots.
Dalrol, the representative brand of the rice bakery startup Dalrol Company, is researching and developing various gluten-free bakeries using domestic rice flour without wheat flour.
