Cheongam University Hosts ‘Together Sharing Happiness’ Program with Seniors

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Cheongam University (Acting President Oh Mi-seong) announced on the 22nd that it conducted a program called ‘Sharing Happiness Together’ with the elderly as part of its innovation support project.

This program was organized by the Cheongam University Center for Students with Disabilities, following the phased daily recovery (With Corona) safety guidelines, as an outing program titled “We Love the Elderly” with elderly users of the Suncheon Comprehensive Welfare Center. The program included a visit to the Goheung Gapje Folk Exhibition Hall, traditional folk games, and a hands-on experience making personalized natural-dyed cotton T-shirts, creating happy memories together with social welfare students.

Heo Gyu-man, director of the Suncheon Comprehensive Welfare Center, said, “The Sharing Happiness Together program with the elderly organized by Cheongam University provided a joyful and meaningful time for the elderly using the welfare center through outings and experiential programs,” expressing gratitude to the Cheongam University staff who prepared the program and the students who participated in the volunteer work.

Ryu Dong-su, director of the Cheongam University Center for Students with Disabilities, who led the event, said, “The program with the elderly using the welfare center provided an opportunity for volunteer work and character development, and we will strive to ensure that Cheongam University fulfills its role in the local community through various programs.”
