JB Financial Group Achieves A+ ESG Rating for Two Consecutive Years from Korea Corporate Governance Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] JB Financial Group announced on the 22nd that it has received an integrated A+ rating for two consecutive years in the 2021 ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluation conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).

JB Financial received an A+ rating in the Governance category for the second consecutive year. In the Social category, it was upgraded by one level to an A+ rating compared to last year, and in the Environment category, it maintained the same A rating as last year.

This year’s evaluation covered 950 listed companies in Korea, and only 14 companies, representing 1.8% of the total, received the highest integrated A+ rating.

Among the 950 listed companies, JB Financial was one of only eight companies to receive the highest A+ rating in the Governance category.

In March, JB Financial also earned an A rating in the ESG evaluation by MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International), a global ESG rating agency, recognizing its management performance not only domestically but also in global ESG assessments.

In September, JB Financial joined the United Nations Principles for Responsible Banking (UN PRB), laying the foundation to systematically carry out ESG activities based on the characteristics of the financial industry. In August, it declared support for the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), further specifying its ESG sustainable management system.
