Education specialist company EK Group (Chairman Lee Hee-joo) held the "5th 2021 KidKids Contest & Concert" at the EK Group headquarters on November 12.
The "2021 KidKids Contest & Concert" was conducted with the concept of "rest" to comfort teachers exhausted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through various events, gifts were given to all participants, and an orchestra performance presented a splendid and beautiful melody.
The "KidKids Contest" is a video contest held annually since 2017 by KidKids, designed to recognize teachers' capabilities and provide opportunities for recharging, aiming to boost the morale of daycare center and kindergarten teachers nationwide.
This year, the contest was conducted by having teachers and children sing or perform creative songs by KidKids together, and teachers submitted videos they personally filmed and edited. It concluded with enthusiastic responses, including about 30,000 members participating in submissions and voting. At the awards ceremony, a total prize of 10 million KRW, including 2 million KRW for the grand prize, along with trophies and certificates, was awarded.
The second part, the "KidKids Concert," featured a performance by the Mostly Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor Park Sang-hyun). It was a classical performance with a story, and the voices of musical actress Park So-yeon, tenor Park Ji-min, baritone and chanson singer Go Han-seung, and bass Choi Woong-jo harmonized beautifully.
Lee Hee-joo, chairman of EK Group, said, "This year, we focused above all on the rest and happiness of teachers. I hope it was an even more enjoyable time as we gathered together for the first time in a while following the phased recovery of daily life." He added, "EK Group will continue to do its best to be a reliable supporter by exploring various ways to provide strength and comfort to childcare workers and early childhood education teachers in Korea."
Meanwhile, the concert was held with strict adherence to COVID-19 prevention guidelines and with only a small number of people gathered. Accordingly, KidKids plans to reproduce the concert as a free online event on its website so that more members can enjoy it.
