[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Seoyoung] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, left a verification post on the online community 'DC Inside.'
On the 20th, Lee posted a message titled "Hello, Gallery Owner Lee Jae-myung greets you" in the Lee Jae-myung gallery on 'DC Inside.' He said, "Recently, many people around me have told me that the Lee Jae-myung gallery is thriving, so I just stopped by to lurk and ended up leaving a post," adding, "Last week, right before the Metaverse event started, I prepared and took a verification photo but forgot to upload it until now."
Lee wrote, "I looked through the opinions you all posted. First of all, I thank those who actively clarified misunderstandings about me circulating in the public," and added, "Several posts expressing raw feelings about the current political scene caught my eye." He continued, "I especially remember the posts saying they would not support me blindly but would be voters who look out for their own interests," and "I believe other members here share similar sentiments."
He emphasized, "Like all citizens, I think young people like you are sovereign voters who make the most rational choices and decisions based on your own judgment," and "Compared to older generations, your political judgment is much more agile and pragmatic. You are not bound by the dichotomy of democratization and industrialization," and "You quickly 'cut off' naive alternatives and solutions but actively support political forces that represent you, regardless of their camp."
He recalled, "Not long ago, when I visited Daegu, I said that if a policy is good, I would not discriminate whether it was Kim Dae-jung’s or Park Chung-hee’s policy. I thought this pragmatic perspective might resonate with the political views of the younger generation." He then added, "Please use me as a useful tool for a better tomorrow," and "If you find me unfit, feel free to replace me without hesitation. That way, I will also constantly strive to be evaluated solely based on ability and performance."
Lee concluded, "I will listen carefully to both praise and criticism," and "I will occasionally come to lurk, so please freely leave various opinions." He also said, "I will show you a more growing side. I will make sure that the most rational choice for the youth is Lee Jae-myung," ending the post along with a 'verification shot' showing him writing the message.
