[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A male BJ in his 40s, accused of detaining and sexually assaulting a female BJ who came to his home for a joint broadcast, has been sent to the prosecution without detention.
Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on the 18th that they had sent Mr. A, a male BJ in his 40s, to the prosecution on charges of forcible sexual assault and detention on the 14th of last month.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of forcibly hugging and trying to lay down the victim, whom he met for a joint broadcast, at his home in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu around midnight on the 3rd of last month. He is also charged with locking the front door and detaining the victim for about 20 minutes.
At the time, four people had gathered for a 'drinking mukbang,' and when the victim reported the harm, one of the companions reportedly reported Mr. A to the police. The responding police arrested Mr. A in flagrante delicto.
Earlier, the police had applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A, but the court dismissed it, stating that "he has a fixed residence."
