Shinhan Bank Launches 'Senior Customer Customized ATM Service'


[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 18th that it has launched the financial industry's first 'Senior Customer Customized ATM Service' to enhance digital financial accessibility for senior customers.


The Senior Customer Customized ATM Service improves the existing ATM screen by using large fonts and simple financial terms for easier ATM transactions for senior customers, and enhancing visibility through color contrast, significantly increasing customer convenience.


In particular, the ATM's customer guidance voice has been adjusted to a slower speech service at about 4 syllables per second, approximately 70% of the previous speed, to assist senior customers with ATM transactions.


Shinhan Bank plans to first apply the Senior Customer Customized ATM Service at five customer-centered branches, including Sillim-dong, where the frequency of visits by senior customers aged 60 and over is high and over 75% of counter transactions are simple tasks such as deposits and withdrawals that can also be done at ATMs, and gradually expand the service.


Additionally, the bank plans to gradually implement senior customer customized screens on various digital devices such as ticket dispensers, number displays, and digital kiosks, focusing on the tasks most frequently used by senior customers to make the screens easy to understand.
