[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Seoyoung] Lee Byunghwa, who was the farm manager for former President Park Jeonghee, appeared on the YouTube channel of Heo Kyungyoung, the presidential candidate of the National Revolutionary Party.
On the 11th, Lee appeared in a video on Heo's YouTube channel 'Heo Kyungyoung Spiritual TV' and claimed, "Heo was Park Jeonghee's secret inspector." He said, "During the turbulent period of 1972, Heo Kyungyoung was the first civilian to meet Park Jeonghee twice," and added, "Heo proposed the Saemaeul Undong (New Village Movement) policies to Park Jeonghee, many of which were adopted."
Lee stated, "(Heo Kyungyoung is) Park Jeonghee's political successor," and explained, "While people tend to see Heo Kyungyoung as a comedian, in the coming turbulent times, the world will see him differently." He also made baseless claims that Heo was the adopted son of the late Samsung chairman Lee Byungchul and that Heo personally delivered political funds demanded by the Blue House to Samsung at that time.
Previously, Lee introduced himself in multiple media interviews as the manager of the 'Saemaeul Undong No. 1 House,' which former President Park used as a weekend farm. Additionally, Heo was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and lost his eligibility to run for office for 10 years after making the claim in 2007 that "former President Park tried to marry his daughter Park Geunhye to me," which was deemed defamation.
