[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Samsung Group's 2021 second half university graduate new employee recruitment written test, the Job Suitability Test (GSAT), was conducted online on the 6th.
The second half GSAT exam consisted of a total of 50 questions, including 20 math questions and 30 reasoning questions, with a pre-check time of 60 minutes and an exam time of 60 minutes, lasting about 2 hours in total. It was held over two days from this day, with four groups in total, one session each in the morning and afternoon.
Among the test takers, the overall difficulty was considered easy, but conditional reasoning was difficult, and the question types were the same as the first half GSAT.
According to the GSAT difficulty survey conducted by the Naver job preparation cafe 'Spec Up' on the morning of the day, 58% of the 70 participants answered that it was 'average,' followed by 20% who said it was 'difficult,' and 10% who said it was 'easy.'
Samsung Electronics stated that the online GSAT was completed without any unexpected situations such as server failures on the day.
Samsung, which started conducting the GSAT online from the first half of last year due to the COVID-19 situation, is known to be considering regularizing online exams in the future.
For this year's second half Samsung recruitment, 20 major Samsung affiliates including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung C&T, Samsung Life Insurance, and Cheil Worldwide are participating.
The online exam allows candidates to take the test at home using their personal computers, and supervisors monitor the exam through a remote monitoring system. To prevent cheating, candidates must record themselves taking the exam using a smartphone.
Samsung plans to select the final successful candidates through interviews conducted from November to December for those who pass the GSAT.
Previously, while SK Group announced a shift to irregular recruitment after this year's second half recruitment, Samsung is the only one among the five major groups to maintain the open recruitment system.
