SK Corp., Awarded Excellent Report for 3 Consecutive Years in Sustainability Management Report

Disclosure of ESG-Centered Sustainable Management Strategies from Stakeholders' Perspectives

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Inc. has won the Excellence in Reporting Award in the service sector for three consecutive years since 2019 in its sustainability reports.

SK Inc. announced on the 5th that it received the Excellence in Reporting Award in the service sector at the '2021 Korea Sustainability Conference' hosted by the Korea Standards Association, winning the 'Korea Sustainability Report Award (KRCA)'.

The Korea Sustainability Report Award, organized by the Korea Standards Association since 2009, evaluates domestic companies' sustainability management reports based on the global standard GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) guidelines through independent assessments and CSR expert reviews, selecting and awarding outstanding reports annually.

Since 2012, SK Inc. has published sustainability management reports transparently containing management information and sustainability management activities. In particular, the 2021 sustainability management report published last July, titled 'SK’s New Journey for Tomorrow,' received favorable reviews for moving away from information delivery-focused content centered on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) activity achievements, reflecting diverse stakeholder demands regarding ESG management, and specifically presenting the future-oriented evolution of the business portfolio and the direction of ESG-based management system innovation.

In this report, SK Inc. also detailed the goals for changes in the business portfolio by investment and business sectors. The investment sector includes reorganizing the business portfolio into four core ESG-based areas: advanced materials, bio, green, and digital. Furthermore, under the three major directions of ESG management systems?▲establishing global-level governance ▲advancing ESG management practice systems ▲investment decisions reflecting ESG perspectives?SK plans to strengthen the execution of its financial story. In the business sector, leveraging accumulated industry knowledge and technological capabilities in artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud, and data areas over many years, SK plans to evolve as a comprehensive digital transformation partner for customers and society.
